At Downtown Music Studios, I worked with two other talented individuals to develop a totally custom touch screen interface for digital control over a vintage API analog mixing console. The project took place in July through September of 2012. I assisted with designing the software along with the lead developer Edward Dias and hardware engineer Joe Russo (Russo Audio Design). The interface required both complex low level logic programming and high level usability design. The system we built enables the user to set up the audio routing on the console. In addition to the touch screen, we added custom OLED panels to each channel strip, which we programmed to display the current console settings. The project was featured in Sonic Scoop.
